Geneva McDonald's Obituary
Geneva McDonald, age 79, of Leesburg passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was born November 30, 1932 in Kirkland, GA and moved to Central Florida in 1951. She was a retired corrections officer, a member of the Adventure Christian Church in Tavares, and a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Ashton K. McDonald; sons, Steve McDonald of Altamonte Springs, FL, Al McDonald of Apopka, FL, Joe McDonald of Seattle, WA; daughter, Patsy Lentz of Leesburg, FL; brothers, Carswell Metts of Orlando, FL, Donnie Metts of Orlando, FL, Eston Metts of Douglas, GA; sisters, Myrtle Blitch of Apopka, FL and Lucy Spivey of Lubbock, TX; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family received friends on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Adventure Christian Church in Tavares. Interment followed at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444.
