Frederic Monroe Waters Jr.'s Obituary
Frederic “Fred” Monroe Waters, Jr. 97 of The Villages, FL and Hendersonville, NC passed away on Monday June 03, 2019. Fred was born on July 02, 1921 in Highpoint, NC to the late Frederick and Dora Waters. Fred Moved to Florida from North Carolina in 1956. He was a Proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a helicopter pilot and fought for our grateful nation during World War II. After his service with the United States Navy, Fred Flew Helicopters in motion pictures, sprayed sugar cane and pineapple fields in Hawaii by helicopter and was part owner of Withers Transfer and Storage for 30 years. Fred was of the Christian faith. He was an active member of Kiwanis, The SAR Sons of the American Revolution, The NRA, and Eustis Gun Club. Fred was a friend to everyone and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He is predeceased by his first wife of 53 years: Joyce Withers Waters; Second wife of 10 years: Emily Louise Woodruff Waters; and daughter Marolyn Waters Johnston. He is survived by His Daughter: Carolyn Waters Sharpe of Tavares, FL; Special friend: Sandra Anderson, of The Villages, FL; Five Grandchildren; and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Fred was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s name may be made to any local humane society of your choice. The Waters family will be holding a memorial service for Fred at a later date in Hendersonville, NC. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on the tribute wall. Services have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations. Located at 226 East Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL.
