Frank B. Carlsson Sr.'s Obituary
CWO Frank Barlow Carlsson, Sr., USCGC Retired, age 84, of Tavares, FL passed away January 25, 2015 in Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He was born November 25, 1930 in Trenton, NJ. The son of John Carlsson & Gladys Barlow Carlsson. He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School, Trenton, NJ. He retired from the United States Coast after 23 years of Service. Frank was President of AdSel Associates (Condo and HOA company) for 26 years in the Orlando area retiring in 2012. Frank was a devoted husband, father and “PopPop” to his family. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Eustis, the Chief Warrants Association, the Bahia Shrine, and the Sylvan Lodge in Shickshinny PA. Frank was serving as Treasurer for the Lake Shrine Club and the Fox Run Community Associate at the time of his passing. After his retirement from the Coast Guard, Frank and Susan were Foster Parents for the Luzerne County Child Services in Wilkes Barre, PA. His is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan Carlsson; his son, Frank Jr. (Susan) of Oxford, FL; granddaughter, Christine Carlsson of Swoyersville, PA; and grandsons, John J. Carlsson (Alison) Trucksville, PA, Steven Carlsson (Michi) Miami Beach, FL, and Alex J. Carlsson of Longwood, FL; and four great-grandchildren in Trucksville, PA; and a sister Mary Lou Martin of Clearwater, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Kurt Carlsson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 12:00PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Eustis, FL. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that all Donations be sent to the Shrine Children’s Hospital 1250 North Pine Dr., Tampa, FL 33612-9499 in his memory.
