Federico "Fred" Ciancimino's Obituary
Federico “Fred” Ciancimino of Sorrento, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the age of 75 years. He was born in Chiusa Sclafani, Sicily, Italy and moved to the United States in 1958. He lived in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Fred married Joanne Ruth Berelc on September 8, 1962. He worked for Cathedral Craftsman as a finish carpenter for 14 years. He then went to work for Godfrey/Fleming Food Distribution and retired after 30 years of service in 2000. He and Joanne moved to Oviedo, Florida in 2001 and then settled in Sorrento in 2005. He was very talented and liked to keep busy. He enjoyed woodworking, built some homes and loved working in the garden. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Fred was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Glen Hayden. Fred is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Joanne; son, Joseph Thomas Ciancimino (Erliyn Martinez); sister, Maria (Steven) Vick; grandchildren, Ayrton, Griffin, Olivia, Roman and Bianca; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine (Terry) Thoms, Jeanette (Kenneth) Plasz, Rose (Gerald) Barbian, John Berelc, Ronald Berelc, Dorothy (Dan) Zunker, Linda (Gary) Schnell, Donald (Nancy) Berelc, Beverly (Alan) Anderson, Jane Berelc, Thomas (Chris) Berelc, Susan Berelc (Herb Parkinson); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26 in the funeral home chapel from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Mass is scheduled for Monday, June 27 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora. Entombment will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis.
