Etheleen Sheets NelsonOur beloved mother and grandmother, Etheleen Nelson, of Tavares, passed peacefully on February 20, 2012 at the age of 79. Etheleen was born on March 4, 1932 in Buckhannon, West Virginia. At the age of two, she lost her mother, and later a younger brother. After living with relatives for a number of years, she moved to Washington D.C. to live with an aunt. She was employed by Eastern Airlines. At Union Methodist Church Etheleen met and married her first love, Ralph Bevins, and started a family. In 1961 she moved with her husband and two children to Winter Park, Florida. In the 80s she was employed by T.G. Lee Foods, which is where she met her next husband, Webster L. Nelson. She and Web retired to Lake County in the 90s. He predeceased her only six months ago. She is survived by two children, Ralph, Jr. (Elizabeth) Bevins and Janice Altman and three grandchildren, Wyatt (Danielle), Matthew, and Katherine, and step-son Johnny (Kay) Nelson and three grandchildren, Samantha (Matthew), Laura and Melissa.Etheleen impressed all with her special kindness and gentleness. She spent a lifetime caring for others. We will miss her beauty and light. Her grandchildren will forever miss a "hug and a kiss from Memaw." Still, she will be with us always.Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish (Tavares) is handling the arrangements and a private family memorial will take place on Saturday, February 25th in the church that helped fill her heart, First United Methodist Church of Tavares.When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight (Kahlil Gibran).Condolences may be left for the family by signing the guestbook below.
