Ethel Mary Kornhaus' Obituary
Mrs. Ethel M. Kornhaus of Eustis, Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the age of 95 years. She was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. In 1952, Ethel moved to Miami, Florida with her husband, John, where she lived for 20 years, relocating to central Florida in 1972. She was a bus driver for the Lake County School System for 20 years. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sanford, Florida. Ethel was a loving wife, married to John for 60 years. Ethel was a very caring mother who taught her children how to love God. Ethel; sons, John (Amy) Kornhaus of New Smyrna, FL, Richard (Leslie) Kornhaus of Tavares, FL, Walter Kornhaus (Angela Green) of Orlando, FL, and Robert (Anna) Kornhaus of Clermont, FL; daughters, Debbie (Paul) of Orlando, FL, Mary (Steve) Oliver of Eustis, Donna Phillips of Eustis; sister Theresa Franits of Melbourne, FL; as well as 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, John 2012 and her daughter Tammy Kitchen in 1985.
The family invited friends to gather for viewing on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 7-9 pm in the funeral home chapel. The Mass will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial followed at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis. Arrangements were entrusted to Stevenson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL. Condolences may be left for the family by signing the guestbook below.
