Edward C. Oleskewicz's Obituary
Edward C. Oleskewicz, age 80, of Leesburg passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010. He was born September 16, 1930 in Hartford, CT and moved to Leesburg in 2005 from Bloomfield, CT. He was a retired insurance appraiser and a veteran of the US Air Force. He loved polka music, was an avid golfer and loved to go bowling. He also built and owned stock cars. He is survived by his wife of 27 years , Joyce Reeve Oleskewicz of Leesburg, FL; son, Edward R. Oleskewicz of Coventry, CT; daughters, Patricia (Tracy) Lincoln of Burlington, CT, Teresa (John) Matuza of Suffield, CT; step-son, Frank Verhagen of Bloomfield, CT; step-daughter, Kim Witkoski of Avon, CT; sister, Jean Burtness of Wethersfield, CT; grandchildren, Jessica, Alexis, Ashley, Rebecca, LCPL Tellar Justin, Jordan, Ryan, and Eddie; sisters-in-law, Shirley Oleskewicz of Enfield, CT, Laura Lynch of Ormond Beach, FL, Judi (Paul) Field of Leesburg, FL, Alice (Tom) Orie of Orlando, FL; brothers-in-law, James Reeve of Orange City, FL and George (Bonnie) Reeve of Wolcott, CT; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Henry and Fred; and his beloved Pomeranians, Muffin and Mishka. The family received friends at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Funeral services will be held in CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778.
