Dwain Jene Dancer's Obituary
Dwain Jene Dancer of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Hanover Township, Michigan to Harold and Bernice Dancer. He met Eunice and they fell in love. They were married on April 26, 1950. Dwain was a farmer in Jackson and Munith, Michigan until he retired. He was a member of the Jackson County and State of Michigan Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service Boards, Farm Bureau and the National Corn Growers. He served as the Waterloo Township Supervisor. Dwain was a past member of the Munith and a current member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares and served on many committees. He also served on the Stockbridge School Board. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughters, Jean and Donna Dancer; brother, Robert Dancer and his son-in-law, Thomas Ilax. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Eunice; daughters, Lois (Olis) Burch of Manitou Beach, MI, Susan Ilax of Cedar Falls, IA and Anita (David) Thornell of Chesterfield, MI; son, James (Kim) Dancer of Fairport, NY; grandchildren, Olis (April) Burch, Jr. Jordan (Vickie) Dancer, Nathan (Crystle) Burch and Ashlea (Mark) Nacey; four great grandchildren and one on the way; and family by love, Logan Beckwith II and family.
Florida Services - A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 17th at 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Tavares.
Michigan Services – Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, October 23rd from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Life service starting at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge, MI.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the First United Methodist Church, 600 W. Ianthe St., Tavares, FL 32778.
