Douglas Keith Williams' Obituary
Doug Williams, 63, of Astatula, Florida, peacefully passed away at home on August 6, 2018.
Doug was born June 1, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. He was a combat engineer in the United States Army from 1980 -1985. Following his time in the military he worked as a handyman and various aspects of construction, until his final years where he enjoyed being a crossing guard in Astatula. Doug enjoyed fishing, football, Nascar, and being around friends.
He is survived by his son Travis Williams and wife Autumn, of Strasburg, Virginia; his daughter Emily Williams of Winchester, Virginia; and daughter Samantha Derflinger and husband Craig, of Front Royal, Virginia. Along with six grandchildren: Cooper, Parker, Sawyer, Annika, Alex, and Bridget. He has seven surviving brothers: Dale Williams and Lynne of Fate, Texas; Dan Williams and Maria of Lake Forest, California; Dwayne Williams and Margaret of Altoona, Pennsylvania; Dwight Williams of Fairfield, California; Darryl Williams; David Kontoes and Kathleen of Norco, California; and Dean Kontoes and Theresa of Garden Grove, California.
Doug will be missed by his girlfriend and companion, Tammy Bressette of Astatula, who lovingly took care of him through his illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents Keith Eugene Williams and Mary Geneva Peace Williams Kontoes, all his grandparents, his brother Dana Williams and grandson William Craig Derflinger.
A memorial service will be held on September 8, 2018 at 11am at Astatula Baptist Church. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
