Dorothy C. Culligan's Obituary
Dorothy C. Culligan, 83 of Tavares, FL went to be with The Lord on Monday March 27, 2017. Dorothy was born on December 22, 1933 in New York, New York to the late Louis and Sophie Schlager. She and her husband John moved to Florida in 1992 from New York. Dorothy was of the Catholic faith. In the early years Dorothy and her husband enjoyed league bowling and staying active in politics. She also enjoyed bingo, music and had a passion for animals, especially her dogs. Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years: John J. Culligan. She is survived by her two children: Stephen Culligan, of Peekskill, NY, and Christine (Ismael) Martinez, of Leesburg, FL; As well as many friends and family at The Osprey Lodge. A Gathering will be held on Monday April 3, 2017. Calling hours will be from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, located at: 226 East Burleigh Blvd. Tavares, FL 32778. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Mary of The Lakes Catholic Church, located at: 218 Oklawaha Avenue, Eustis, FL 32736. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and friend who will be deeply missed by many. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the ASPCA on line at: https://secure.aspca.org/donate/donate or by phone at: 1-800-628-0028. Services have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family on the tribute wall.
