Donald Clinton Wheeler's Obituary
Donald Clinton Wheeler, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, age 81, of The Villages was taken home by the angels on Thursday, November 28, 2013. Born in 1932 in Berlin, NH he grew up in the White Mountains where he became an expert skier. Don did his undergraduate work at the University of New Hampshire and earned his MBA at Syracuse (NY) University. He was an officer in the US Army Rangers, then settled in Tolland, Connecticut with his wife Carole-Michelle where they raised four wonderful children; son Charles (Susan) of Seattle, WA; Brendon of Lakeland, FL; and daughters, Kerri Manning and Erin Wheeler, both of Clermont, FL. Don spent most of his career in industrial sales. In 2005 Don and Michelle moved to The Villages from Tolland and Don worked with Community Watch for 8 years at the Sunset Pointe gate. He made many friends everywhere he went and kept them for a lifetime. Don is survived by a brother, James, NH, and is predeceased by his parents, brother David and son-in-law Fire Lt. Bill Manning. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:00am at the Churchill Down Recreation Center, 2375 Churchill Down, Village of Lynhaven, The Villages.
