Mr. Donald Robert Poole's Obituary
Donald Robert Poole, 89, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Leesburg, Florida. Donald was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 10, 1930 to Harry and Mary Poole. Shortly after graduating high school in 1948, Don entered the United States Air Force where he served his Country proudly until 1953. It was there where he met and married wife of 67 years Eleanore F. Poole and were blessed with 3 children; Cynthia, James and Daniel. In 1992, Don and Eleanore moved to Florida and lived in the Scottish Highlands. Their days were spent traveling and staying at their camp lot in Walden Woods in Angola, Indiana where they stayed from Memorial Day to Labor Day. An avid outdoors-man, Don and Eleanore camped and traveled to every state east of the Mississippi River and cruises to different Countries including the Panama Canal. When not traveling, Don enjoyed spending his time attending church at Lake Square Presbyterian Church in Leesburg and was a member of the Elks Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Eustis, Florida and a past Master Mason of Northern Light Masonic Lodge of Maumee, Ohio.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date when everyone will be allowed to attend safely. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's memory to the National Diabetes Society, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202 or diabetes.org.
