Donald Paul Cornell's Obituary
Donald Paul Cornell of Tavares, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Fort Edward, New York to the late Irvin and Louise Cornell. Donald proudly served his country in the US Marines. After the service, he graduated from DeVry Institute in Chicago. Donald loved to play billiards and it helped pay his way through college. He went to work for United Technology in the Research Division. Donald started as a lab tech. and worked his way to Associate Engineer in data acquisitions. He was involved in the design of the first laser hole drill for Pratt Whitney Aircraft Co. Donald enjoyed hiking at Case Mountain in Manchester, Connecticut with his wife, Toni and his weimaraner, Gigi, using his handheld GPS to guide them. He also enjoyed building computers. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife, Toni; children, Peter Cornell and his wife, Dana of Virginia Beach, VA, Pamela Allen and her husband, Mitch of Eustis, FL and Patrick Cornell and his wife, Linda of Chester Springs, PA; and grandchildren, Nicolette Cornell and Kristen Cornell, both of Chester Springs. He was preceded in death by his son, Philip Cornell.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing Thursday from 2:30 – 3:30 pm with a funeral ceremony starting at 3:30 pm, all in the funeral home chapel.
