Dimple W. Hawthorne's Obituary
Dimple W. Hawthorne of Tavares passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 92 years. She was born in Altoona and has lived in this area her entire life. Dimple was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tavares since 1947. She was also a member of the Palm Garden Club, Tavares Historical Society, and the Women’s Club. Dimple was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in February 1995 after 53 years of marriage. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her sons, Wayne (Delores) Hawthorne and Jimmy (Louanne) Hawthorne, all of Tavares; daughters, Gail (Jim) Schoenberger of Groveland and Carol (James) Salter of Tavares; sister, Mattie Martin of Orlando; as well as 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, December 10 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a funeral ceremony starting at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Tavares. Burial will follow at Tavares Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778; www.cshospice.org Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
