I met David several years ago when he joined the Lake Erie Blue Knight, and almost immediately he helped us, The Blue Knight, expand our outlook on working with other charitable institutions. Working with others like road guards for volunteer fire department rides, assisting Patriot Guard at military funerals and supporting VACA Bikerscagainst Child abuse. After several discussion s about different issues I found David to be a trusted asset. As the President of the Lake Erie Blue Knights I knew I could contact him at any time to work with me as a sounding board, he was not a yes man, he was an independent thinker with a sharp mind and a wealth of experience.
Medical issues pulled him away from riding and his over the road trucking job for awhile several years back and he was forced to sell his Harley Trike. At that time I was going through a hip replacement and had been pricing out Trikes and Spyders knowing the hip would keep me off two wheelers and he called me and offered it to me, I still have her, and love her. Today, I am down in the Daytona Beach area and I took her for a Dave Martin Memorial Day ride. The weather was good, the ride was good, the memories, they were fantastic.
David was out liaison to BACA, he was our liaison to Patriot Guard and now, he is our Liason to Heaven 1. Miss you Dave, that keen sense of humor and that quick wit.Oh yeah, and just one thing, from my own twisted sense of humor, don't forget to vote. Love ya man, save us a seat at the "table" .
