David Kelsey Mahnken's Obituary
David Kelsey Mahnken, age 82, of Leesburg passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012. He was born December 29, 1929 in Freeport, NY and moved to Central Florida in 1967 from NH. He was a retired finance manger in the aerospace industry and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mt. Dora, was past commodore of the Tavares Boat Club, a member of the American Legion, a Winter Park High School Booster, and an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mahnken of Leesburg, FL; sons, David (Jennifer) Mahnken of Jacksonville, FL and Stephen (Narissa) Mahnken of Toronto, Canada; daughter, Laurie Mahnken John of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Sara John, Kellie John, Cindy (Matt) Wittnam, and Jeremy Toohey; great-grandchildren, Auley Wittnam, Shane Wittnam, and Maisy Wittnam; nieces, Karen Newbery of Freeport, NY and Janet Foote of Alta Loma, CA. The family received friends on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 1:00PM until 8:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:00AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444.
