David Andrew Bruner's Obituary
David Andrew “Andy” Bruner, age 50, passed away November 11, 2010 at home in Eustis. He had been a Lake County resident since 2003. He is survived by his mother, Ann Williams Bruner of Eustis; sons, Rayburn Bruner of London, England and Emery Bruner of Valrico, FL; maternal uncle, Raburn Williams; paternal aunt, Ann Bruner; five cousins; their spouses and children. David was born in Orlando, FL on September 5, 1960. He graduated from Naples High School, and then served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Coronado in the Persian Gulf with Ronald Reagan’s Middle East Battle Group. He was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal (Indian Ocean) and Sea Service Ribbon (Persian Gulf). He earned his Honorable Discharge and returned to Florida. David attended Florida State and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.A. Degree in Economics. He worked briefly at O’Shea’s Restaurant, Marco Island, before going to England to marry his fiancée, Jane Whiteman Bruner. He was accepted into the Hilton Hotel Management Training Program in London and was employed there during the first Iraq War. Rayburn, his eldest son, was born in London. David’s work career included the Ritz Carlton, Naples; electronics sales and service with Radio Shack and Sound Advice and Teaching in Collier and Lake County. Andy adored his two boys and loved taking them boating, fishing and on picnic’s to the springs. He was much loved and will be sorely missed by his family and many close long time friends. David was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in his family’s plot. A Memorial Service will be held for him at a later date in Collier County.
