Dale M. Hayes' Obituary
Mr. Dale M. Hayes, of Tavares, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 91 years. He was born in New Castle, IN. Dale served his country in the US Navy in WWII. He retired as Market Manager from Winn Dixie in Orlando after 26 years of service. Dale was a member of the Orlando Composite # 293 F&AM. He was an avid fisherman, moving to Tavares to live on the lake in 1981 from Orlando. He also enjoyed sharing his wood carvings with his friends. He is remembered by his wife of 69 years, Betty; son, Jack (Cheri) Hayes of Astatula, FL; daughter, Judy Vickery of Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren, Keith (Kim) Hayes of Margate, FL, Scott (Lynda) Hayes of Ocoee, FL, Lisa Vickery (Norman Winter) of Red Rock, AZ, Steven Vickery (Trina DeHate) of Apopka, FL and Jeffery of Tavares, FL; as well as 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. Friends gathered at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 from 11:00 – 11:30 am. A funeral ceremony started at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL, 352-343-4444.
