Cora Jean Case's Obituary
Cora Jean “CJ” Case was born on September 27, 1963, in Niles, Michigan. She passed away on February 16, 2023.
She was pre-deceased by her grandparents, Sadie and Howard Johnson and her dad, Ed Schwarz. She is survived by her mother, Judie Schwarz, of Fruitland Park, Florida; her sweetie or GEG, Walt Niehus, of Fruitland Park, Florida; her sons, Jamie (Katie) Case, of Tavares, Florida, and Jacob Case, of Fruitland Park, Florida; her brother, Robert (Lorraine) Schwarz, of Ishpeming, Michigan; her grandchildren, Mikey and Richie Case, of Indianapolis, Indiana; Sadie Case, of Fruitland Park, Florida; Mathew Albert, of Ramstein AFB, Germany; Callum and Ayribella Case, of Tavares, Florida; and her special “sister” Kim Darnell, of Howey in the Hills, Florida, and many, many “adopted” kids.
From the outside, it was evident that she was an avid Michigan fan and NASCAR enthusiast, but for those lucky enough to know and be known by her, they knew she was the number one fan of her family and friends. She loved her family beyond compare. She was always there for her parents, as they were for her. She loved traveling with her sweetie, Walt, and making memories with her children and grandchildren.
She always put others before herself and served those around her with grace and fierce loyalty. She has served well and been loyal to her paralegal job at Cauthen, Oldham & Associates, P.A. for the last 27 years. It was here that she sowed into friendships that would carry until the end.
She was a lover of marine life and one of her favorite memories was meeting Winter, the dolphin, at Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
A Visitation will be held at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00PM. Interment will take place at Shiloh Municipal Cemetery, Fruitland Park, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, ATTN: Kevin Clark, 249 Windward Passage, Clearwater, Florida 33767.
