Constance Rita Theis' Obituary
Constance “Connie” Rita Theis passed away Feb 1st, 2025 peacefully while surrounded by her husband and children near her home in Tavares, FL. Connie was born in Portland ME, May 2, 1944, the oldest of 7 children to the parents of Christopher L. and Rita P. Ronan. She is preceded in death by sister Cathy Moneypenny and brother Paul Ronan. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Peter, sons Christopher (Renee), Michael (Britt), Patrick (Taya) and daughter Caroline (Charlie), grandchildren Alexis, Ashley & Addison (Chris & Renee), Carter & Caroline (Mike and Britt), Cora and Caden (Pat and Taya), Madeline & Isabelle (Carrie & Charlie), sisters Tina Ronan, Carrie Ronan, and brothers Thomas Ronan (Janet) and Peter Ronan.
Connie entered nursing school at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland Maine in 1963. After graduating from nursing school she served in the US Navy as a registered nurse from Jan 1966 to Jan 1968 leaving the Navy as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. She fell in love with and married the love of her life and best friend, Peter, on January 27, 1968. She was a dedicated mother and wife from that day forward.
Connie’s love and bond with her family was incredibly strong and the most important part of her life. She always supported her kids in sports and other endeavors, and loved family vacations in Florida, Maine and Minnesota as well as family game nights. Connie had a wonderful sense of humor, cunning wit and howling laugh making family gatherings memorable. She was the glue that kept the family together and was always the life of the party.
Connie’s passions later in life included her artwork and her summers in Maine with Peter. Her love for the arts showed in her watercolors that decorated her home and those of her family. She also enjoyed writing poetry and had several published poems.
