Clyde Avon Petty's Obituary
Clyde Avon Petty, 91, of Tavares, Florida passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. Born in Fairhaven Township, Michigan he had been a resident of this area since 1984 coming from Lapeer, Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Tavares. Before retiring, he was a painter with General Motors. His many hobbies included doing crossword puzzles, gardening, playing cards and golfing.Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Julia, Tavares, 4 daughters; Rosalind Board, Tavares, Nancy Cole (Larry), Xenia, Ohio, Lori Dixon (Andy), Powder Springs, Georgia & Anita Machiela (Dan), Buda, Texas. 2 sisters; Rosetta Davis, Toledo, Ohio & Bernice Johnson, Sebring, Florida. 10 Grandchildren, several Great-Grandchildren & 1 Great-Great Grandchild.Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 890 Abrams Road, Eustis, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Trinity Evangelical Free Church Impact Center.Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 East Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, Florida.
