Clifford J. Nolen Jr.'s Obituary
Clifford J. Nolan passed away on Saturday Aug. 29th 2015 at the age of 90 years. He was born on Mar. 18 1925, the son of Helen and Clifford Nolan in Ridgewood NJ. After High School he joined the Navy and WWII, where he worked rebuilding Pearl Harbor and then Midway Island. Using the GI bill he attended North Carolina State studying Forestry. His childhood adventures with the Boy Scouts eventually led him to the rank of Eagle Scout and a career with the Boy Scouts. Clifford's professional career, touched thousands lives, not just the boy's, but also the adult's he worked with to organize and fund Scouting. He retired from Scouting in 1988 and moved to Tavares Fl., during which he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, bowling and travel. Clifford will be remembered by his two sons: D. Bruce Nolan his wife Paula, and Douglas J. Nolan and his wife Katheryn; his seven grandchildren: Emily, Clifford, David, Betsy, Jeffrey, Rebecca and Michelle, fourteen great grandchildren their families and many friends. Graveside services will be held in the Astatula Cemetery on Saturday, September 19th at 1 PM, Rev. Dr. Robert Roberts of the Union Congregational Church of Tavares will officiate.
