Clay Joe Duncan's Obituary
Clay Joe Duncan, age 81, of Leesburg was called home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2016. He was born to William Hood Duncan and Mary L. Phelps on July 16, 1935. Joe joined the Army on May 3, 1955 and served his country until June 26, 1958. He then served 30 years to the city of Jefferson City, MO with the Fire Department until his retirement as Assistant Chief in 1989. Joe married Jo Ann Wryick and to his union two sons were born. Joe later married Anna M. Albert Duncan on September 16, 1988. Joe was a member of Finey Baptist Church in Warsaw, MO. Joe enjoyed fishing and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, Anna, and with his church family. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Clyde Franklin, William “Bill” Hood, Jr., E.L. “Bud”, Bob L., and Charles L. “Dick” Duncan. Joe is survived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Terry and Timothy Duncan; two step-children, Raymond Bacon and and Sandra Dee Heilman; 8 grandchildren; and two sisters, Pat Larson and Carolyn Even. Joe will be missed by many friends and family. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E.
