Clara Amelia Alms' Obituary
Clara Amelia Alms of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She was 96. Clara was born in Elberta, Alabama and resided there until July 2012, when she relocated to Tavares. Clara was a homemaker but also continued to work the farm after her husband passed away. She still had some cows at the time she moved to Florida. She was a member of St. Mark’ Lutheran Church and the Cattleman’s Association. Granny, as she was affectionately known by her family and close friends, was best known for her baking, especially German desserts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Norbert Alms, Jr. after 40 years of marriage. She was also preceded by two sons, Arthur Alms in 1945 and Allen Alms in 1993; and 6 siblings. Clara is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Sharon (John) McCraney of Elberta and Sandy Johnson of Tavares; 4 grandchildren and multiple generations of great grandchildren.
All services will be held in Elbert, Alabama at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
