I remember my Uncle Charlie at family gatherings as a guy who always had a smile on his face and was fun to be around. Although I had not seen him in many years he always has a special place in my heart. Many great memories and much love.

Dad,
There are so many things I will remember about you, but two will stand out the most. The article about life's train station that you cut out, laminated, and gave to me. I read it SO MANY times; life is not about a destination, it's about each day. The second is once when I was very, very hurt and heartbroken and there was nothing anyone could do to fix it; not even me, and we went and sat on your front porch ~ and just sat, both of us thinking about my hurt and knowing that enough words had been said; you just put your hand on my knee and we continued to just sit there. So sorry to hear about Charles. Prayers to Bonnie and the family. Charles was my papa's best neighbor in Roseville, MI., and I remember him having the prettiest lawn in the whole neighborhood! We would trick or treat on Halloween and run across everyone's yard, except for Bonnie and Charles! We knew better and would politely walk around the sidewalk, up the driveway and up the path to the porch to get our candy! Papa or the yard wasn't the same after y'all moved! You will be missed! Rest in paradise Charles!
Charlie was a great friend to my father and an absolute joy to be around. His laughter and joyous demeanor was contagious and will not be forgotten. Rest in Paradise and say hi to my dad for me.
