Charlene Phylis Black's Obituary
Charlene Phylis Black age 82 passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. Charlene was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to the Grand Island area in 1993 from Des Moines, Iowa. She was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Those closest to Charlene remember her funny and giving spirit. She was always a good friend you could count on and everyone walked away from her knowing what a truly sweet person she was. Charlene loved being active, going out to eat, flea markets, shopping and was a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Tavares Elks Lodge. She also loved playing bingo and visiting casinos. She had a passion for NASCAR, the Chicago Cubs, and the Orlando Predators arena football team. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 49 years, Richard and she leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter and son-in-law – Tami Black-Roundtree & Jason Roundtree; Son – Richard “Rick” Black Jr. of Raleigh, NC; Brothers – Stephen Mayerak of Dalton, IL and Robert (Bob) Mayerak of Chico, CA; Grandchildren – Shayne (Victoria) Black, Kody and Kyle Roundtree; a Great-Grandchild – Olivia Black, who was the apple of her eye and her adored cats Digger and Bandit.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Eustis on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00AM.
