Chad Daniel VanProoyen's Obituary
Chad Daniel VanProoyen of Leesburg, FL, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the age of 32 years due to a heart attack. He was born in Traverse City, MI. Chad attended the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church in Kalkaska, MI and was a graduate of Kalkaska High School, class of 2000. He attended Cornerstone University with a math scholarship and then Baker College. Chad was a member of the Resurrection Life Church in Cadillac, MI until he moved to Florida in April 2013. He loved water sports and boating, which helped in his decision to come to Florida and live in his grandpa’s house. Chad drove for King’s Taxi in the Leesburg area and also worked at One Stop Cooling & Heating in Tampa and Orlando and Therma Cool in Fruitland Park, FL. Chad had a love of life, enjoying music and swimming. He liked to make venison jerky for his family and friends. Chad is remembered as a fun loving and sweet person that will be dearly missed. He is the beloved son of Rev. Jerry and Carla VanProoyen of Cadillac. Other survivors include his brothers, Master Sergeant Tim VanProoyen (RET) and his wife, Tricia of Manassas, VA, Master Sergeant James VanProoyen and his wife, Stacey of Riverview, FL and Pastor Nathan VanProoyen and his wife, Julie of Tyrone, PA; grandmother, Ruth Townsend of Cadillac; and his six nieces and nephews, who he adored and who adored him and loved to spend time with, Tyler, Taylor, Allyson, Amber, Renee and Julianne.

- I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.
- He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.
- He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.
A memorial ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:00 pm at Chad’s home, 10750 Westmont Road, Leesburg, FL 34788, with a prayer ceremony following at Tavares Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carla VanProoyen, care of the funeral home, to help defray the cost of the funeral.
