Catherine L. Allen's Obituary
Catherine L. ‘Cathy’ Allen of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the age of 101 years. She was born in Panola County, Mississippi. Cathy moved to Lake County in 2004 from Indian Harbor Beach, Florida. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tavares. Cathy was also a proud and active sponsor of P.E.O. Chapter EM, Melbourne, FL (Philanthropic Educational Organization) for more than 40 years and the Eastern Star for over 75 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward ‘Jerry’ Allen on May 11, 1992 after 53 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Ruth Allen; brother, Aubrey Land and sisters, Mildred Jenkins and Willie Ruth Luscher. Cathy is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith K. and Donald Baltunis of Tavares, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Brad Williams of Altamonte Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Scott Baltunis (Sarah) of Leesburg, Florida; Christian Baltunis (Cynthia) of Tavares; Catherine Baltunis-Johnson (Matthew) of Sorrento, Florida; Steven Baltunis (Kristi) of League City, Texas; Jason Wanninger of Belleview, Florida and Jeremy Williams (Amy) of Altamonte Springs; great-grandchildren, Annelise Baltunis, Land Baltunis, Adam Allaire, Jacob Baltunis, Gabriel Baltunis, Gavin Baltunis, Jaden Williams, Michael Williams, Dylan Savage and James Giesinger; and great-great-granddaughter, Hanna Allaire.
A memorial ceremony will be held in the UMAC Building at the First United Methodist Church in Tavares on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 am.
