Carolina P. Almanza's Obituary
Carolina P. Almanza of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the age of 70 years. She was born in Brownsville, TX and moved to central Florida from there in 1976, living in Lake Jem prior to moving to Mount Dora. Carolina worked at A. Duda & Sons Agricultural for many years, baby sitting for the worker’s children at first and eventually worked on the line, grading vegetables. Later, she went to work for Driftwood Gardens Nursery. After Carolina retired, she devoted much of her time to her church community at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mount Dora. She assisted with Mass and helped as an usher. Carolina also helped facilitate the “Why Catholic” program with the Hispanic community. Many of her friends knew her to be much like a counselor. She was a great listener and would give sound advice. She was always willing to step in to help and to organize fundraisers for those in need. She will truly be missed. Carolina enjoyed sewing and cross stitch. She was also an excellent cook. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Lillian Christina and Hector Servin of Mount Dora; grandson, Hector Servin of Mount Dora; seven sisters and many friends. Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Sunday, August 24 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday at 9:00 am, also in church at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6803 Old Highway 441 S, Mount Dora, FL 32757. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
