Carol Joyce Pfuhl's Obituary
Mrs. Carol Joyce Pfuhl of Grand Island, Florida passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the age of 74 years. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas Augustus and Margaret Ann Stringfield. Carol attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville and became a member of the Delta Gama Sorority, in which she was still involved. After college, she returned to Michigan and raised a family. In 1971, she moved to South Florida and relocated to Central Florida in 1992. Carol was a supporter and contributed photos to the Audubon Society. She enjoyed going to the beach and collecting seashells. Carol will be remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 36 years, Rudy; son, Riley Sanders and his wife, Julie of Somerset, Massachusetts; step-daughters, Jan Ryncarz and her husband, Dan of Cumming, Georgia, Valerie Pfuhl of Ecuador, Geri Lit and her husband, Steve of Ecuador, Chris-Anne Kalisher of South Florida, Carol-Anne Griemann and her husband, Paul of Germantown, Ohio and Katy Russell and her husband, Chris of Bowling Green, Missouri; brother, Michael Stringfield and his wife, Joyce of Tavares, Florida; grandchildren, Rachel Sanders, William Sanders, Matthew (Polly) Ryncarz, Amanda Ryncarz and Jessica Lit; 2 great grandchildren, Bella and Madison Ryncarz; niece, Karen Grogg; nephew, Patrick Stringfield; and her lifelong friends, Joel Olson of Dallas, Texas and Lotus Paige of Gross Pointe, Michigan. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Polevorde. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Oklawaha Valley Audubon Society, PO Box 268, Eustis, FL 32727.
