Bruce T. Lee's Obituary
Bruce T. Lee, age 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was born and reared in Astatula, FL on September 5, 1916 to parents, John and Ruby Lee. Bruce was a graduate of Tavares High School in 1934. He became a mechanic until he went into the CC’s from 1939-1942; and then joined the Army Corp of Engineering. He was in World War II and was deployed to Italy, France and other places overseas. He was a member of Astatula Baptist Church for 68 years. He is survived by his son, Thomas Lee of Umatilla, FL; daughter, Rebecca Kirkley of Fruitland Park, FL; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by family and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00AM at Astatula Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Astatula Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444.
