Brenda Ruth Yoder's Obituary
Brenda Ruth Yoder, 74, of Tavares passed away on May 27, 2026 after a long illness. She was born on June 20, 1951 in Live Oak, Florida to the late Philip and Betty Yoder. Brenda graduated from Tavares High Scholl in 1969 and received her A.A. degree from Lake Sumter Community College in 1972. Brenda enjoyed all sports and growing up was quite the tomboy. She also loved the beach and the time spent there with family. Brenda was an animal lover and had many cats and a dog that were special to her. Brenda loved traveling and was fortunate to visit Spain, Germany, and Switzerland. A highlight for her was riding the Eurotrain.
As a youngster, Brenda was very helpful around the house. She enjoyed the challenge of complex projects and many times could be found "tinkering" with her dad. Brenda was a devout Christian and a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Tavares.
Brenda is predeceased by her parents Philip and Betty Yoder; brother, Mike Yoder; and sister, Linda Yoder. She is survived by her sister, Janet Yoder Latshaw and many nieces and nephews. During her illness Brenda was surrounded by her sister and caregiver, Janet; and the family she cherished so deeply.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Tavares Cemetery on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cornerstone Hospice.
