Beverly Jean Tirrell's Obituary
Tirrell, Beverly Jean, 82, of Tavares, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 in Florida Hospital Waterman. Mrs. Tirrell was born in Denver, CO and was known for excelling at most everything she tried in life. At Englewood High School in Colorado, her scholastic accomplishments propelled her a full year ahead of her classmates, graduating in 1944 instead of 1945. She also attended the University of Denver. Beverly met Robert Frank Tirrell at an old-time square-dance hall. They were married for 57 years until his death in 2003. Together they raised two sons and enjoyed an active outdoor life of family camping and fishing. She and her husband also held numerous awards as water skiing champions. After retirement Beverly worked side by side with her husband building five duplex houses and after purchasing a motor home they traveled the country extensively, finally deciding to make Tavares, FL their home in 1991. Beverly was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Gene Tirrell of Tavares and her brother, Robert A. McMahon of Denver. Survivors include her other son, Donald Dean Tirrell and his wife, Helen of Kasilof, AK. Grandchildren include Justin Tirrell and his wife, Faith, Jacob Tirrell, Amber Tirrell and Kaleb Tirrell, all of Aurora, CO; her other brother, Dick McMahon and his wife, Frannie of Coos Bay, OR; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson-Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares, 352-343-4444.
