Bettye Coven Lynch Wilcox's Obituary
Bettye Coven Lynch Wilcox of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Orlando to Leo G. and Leela Coven. Bettye lived in central Florida, mainly Tavares, most of her life. She graduated from Tavares High School. Bettye was a retired LPN and worked at Waterman Memorial Hospital in Eustis. She coordinated the luncheons for the retired hospital workers while working there until she retired in 1986. Bettye was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Tavares and the Tavares Historical Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cakes and was known to be quite good at it. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, James E. Lynch, Sr. and Lee D. Wilcox; her son, Tom Lynch; her brothers, Lyndon Coven, Russell Coven, Babe Coven, and Dale Coven and a sister, Alice Anderson. Bettye is remembered and will be dearly missed by her sons, James Lynch, Jr. of Tavares and Dale Lynch and his wife, Joyce of Indialantic, FL; daughter, Lynda Ross of Leesburg, FL; 5 grandchildren, Faith Feleccia, Justin Ross, Jody Ross, Lauren Lynch and Brooke Lynch; 2 great grandchildren, Jackie Suttles III and Brittany Besser; and one great great grandson, Landon Besser. A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 am at the Union Congregational Church. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
