Betty Sue Smith's Obituary
Sue Smith of Tavares, Florida, born 11 December 1943 to Elton and Anola Heathcock, passed Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Preceded by her husband Roy Lee Smith, daughter Theresa Sue Smith, and brother James William Heathcock.
Survived by her daughter Michelle Lee Smith, brother Bobby Joe Heathcock and Wife Judy, Sister Pat Strickland and husband Gene, and lifelong companion Rose Kimbler.
She had three grandchildren (Devin, Parker, and Madison) four great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Known throughout the community for over 60 years, she had an amazing amount of friends.
Miss Sue drove buses for Lake County School Board for a collective 30 years. There are many accounts where the students she transported at the end of her career, were the children of the students she transported at the beginning of her career. She also worked as a clerk at the local convenience stores that were frequented by the local community, and a hang out for high school students.
Sue was known as a very prolific gardener, enjoying her various types of plants and trees, most notably her Bonsai plants. She loved the outdoors, often riding her bike around the community and visiting with neighbors. When the weather was not conducive to her outdoor activities, she would pull from her massive library of movies, knowing every actor and every release date to every movie.
Miss Sue showed so much love for Lake County, the children and the community as a whole. She will be sorely missed and in all ways remembered forever.
