Basil Gene Lewis' Obituary
Basil Gene Lewis, age 82, of Leesburg passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012. He was born December 25, 1929 in Madison County, IN. He retired from General Motors, served in the US Army and Army Air Corp, and was a life-member of V.F.W. Post 8087. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; 5 children; one brother; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son. The family received friends on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service followed at 11:00AM in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to V.F.W. Post 8087, 4065 N Hwy 19A, Mount Dora, FL 32757. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444.
