Arthur "Ronald" Shirley, 76, from Tavares Florida, passed away May 7, 2026
Ronald was a beloved husband, father, and friend.
Ronald was born on January 23, 1950 in Toccoa Georgia. From the early 1970s Ronald started his career in law enforcement. For his career starting in Georgia, he spent over 20 years in criminal justice there. He moved up in the ranks from his patrol days; to Detective, to Lieutenant, and eventually Chief of Police for Toccoa Police Department, located in Stephens County Georgia.
In 1993 Ronald's family moved to Tavares Florida where he began his journey at the Lake County Sheriff's office. Ronald retired from his almost 25 years at LCSO as a Crime Scene Investigator.
Through his dedication and hard work, he was able to train and mentor those Crime Scene Technicians that would continue to serve Lake County after him.
Ronald loved his God and his family. He enjoyed trips to the mountains and adventuring on cruises.
He was passionate about his work, loved his family, and loved all his furbabies.
Ronald leaves behind his wife, Cindy Shirley and their son, Andrew (Andy) Shirley Sister, Patricia Ivester Dyer sons, Bradley W. Webber, Brian Christopher Shirley, Steven Eric Shirley, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We remember him as the steady, gentle, faithful, loving man that he was.
