Arlene H. Statts' Obituary
Arlene H. Statts of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the age of 78 years. She was born in Binghamton, New York. She and her husband, Jim, moved to Tavares from Binghamton in 2004. Arlene worked for the Chenango Forks Schools in New York for 30 years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Binghamton and St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, FL where she was a member of the Daughters of the King. Arlene enjoyed sewing and crocheting, ceramics and was an avid reader. She was a fantastic cook and loved gardening. She also enjoyed travel and camping. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Statts and two brothers, Ralph Hobbie II and Frank Hobbie II. Arlene is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, Jim Statts; son, Jeff Statts of Titusville, FL; daughter, Cindy (Tom) Cook of Port Crane, NY; sister, Judy Catlin of Barton, NY; grandchildren, Nicholas (Diane) Cook and Brenda Gates, all of Binghamton and great grandchildren, Delia Cook and Marissa Gates; as well as several nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00 am at St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg. Condolences may be shared on the tribute wall.
