Annie Mae Strickland's Obituary
Annie Mae Strickland a homemaker age 72 passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Born in Hartford, Alabama Mrs. Strickland had been a resident of the Tavares area for over 50 years and moved to the Lake City, FL area in June of this year. She will be remembered as a truly wonderful mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family she enjoyed gospel music and spending time in the outdoors gardening and fishing.She was pre-deceased by her husband James Herman Strickland in 1986. She is survived by: 4 sons – Charles Eugene Strickland – Ocklawaha, FL; James Alvin Strickland – Apopka, FL; Terry Lee Strickland – Ocklawaha, FL; and Larry Wayne Strickland – Apopka, FL; 2 Daughters – Kathryn Ann Davenport – Lisbon, FL; Sara Louise Strickland – Lake City, FL; 2 Brothers- Jimmy Earl Harrison – Fruitland Park, FL; Charlie Harrison – Ocklawaha, FL; 3 Sisters – Dolly Thomas – Fruitland Park, FL; Louise Bentz – Perry, GA; Ella Harrison – Ocklawaha, FL;19 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. The family received friends at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations (226 East Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778) from 10:00 A. M. – 11:00 A. M. Friday October 8, 2010. Funeral Services followed immediately at 11:00 A. M. at the funeral home. Dr. Bill J. Cox and Rev. John Abner will serve as officiants.
