Mrs. Anita A. Herpst's Obituary
Anita A. Herpst, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 22, 2020. Anita was born in Whitestone, New York, on January 5, 1923 to John and Augusta Adams. Anita worked for New York Life until her marriage to Harold "Bud" Herpst shortly before the end of Word War II. She met Bud through her cousin, Fred Heidelberg, who was Bud's best friend during their Army Aircorps service in World War II. After her marriage, Anita was a homemaker in Harrington Park, New Jersey. She was a renowned cook and baker. Her children's teachers always looked forward to a renowned box of her homemade Christmas cookies as thier Christmas gift. She was a Cub Scout and Brownies leader, an officer of the Harrington Park Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and she frequently staffed the local Bergen County Blood Bank. When her children reached high school age, Anita was the manager of the Northern Valley Regional High School cafeteria for many years. She retired with Bud to Astatula Florida in 1973 and moved to Eustice to live with her daughter Janis in 2013. She is survived by her two sons: Gary and Robert Herpst, daughter Janis Black, four grandchildren; Myrna Soto Restrepo, Katherine E. Herpst, Lauren G. Rogers, Sarah E. Herpst, seven great grandchildren; Gabriel Rogers, Alexis Lumpkin, Jasmine Bravo, Lauren Clem, Brisyn Harrelson, Fabio Restrepo, Malykai Restrepo and one great granddaughter Alyse Bowden. A service to celebrate Anita's life is pending and is planned at a later date.
