Alice S. Maines' Obituary
Alice S. Maines, 95, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on November 8, 2019 after a short illness following a Covid -19 infection. Alice was born January 1, 1926 in Albany, NY to Louis Franklin Schaefer and Ella Clare Harrington. Alice was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Marjorie Pino, and Helen Darcey; and her husband of 69 years, George Bolmer Maines of Binghamton, NY.
Alice worked many years in the insurance claims industry and retired from the New York State Labor Department in Binghamton, NY. Upon retirement, Alice and George moved from Binghamton, NY to Ponte Vedra, FL and then to Mount Dora, FL, where they were long time residents of Waterman Village Retirement Community.
Alice is survived by her two sons, Kenneth George Maines of Charlotte, NC and Gary Stephen Maines and his wife, Eleanor Webb Maines of Raleigh, NC; four Grandchildren, Kristen Jean Maines of Charlotte, NC, Katheryn Mai of Charlotte, NC, Nathan Louis Maines of Falls Church, VA and Andrea ‘Annie’ Moses of Virginia Beach, VA; 8 great grandchildren McCallum Mai, Mitchel Mai, Andrew ‘Drew’ Maines, Edward Jon ‘Teddy’ Maines, Zachery Maines, Ian Gary Moses, Gavin William Moses and Hannah Eleanor Moses, and four nieces Barbara Snicer, Christine Pino, Diane Stannard and Michelle Pino.
