The family of Alexander “Alex” Jace Croson is heartbroken to share the news of his passing on June 1st, 2026 at the young age of 16. Alexander was born and raised in Tavares, Fl and attended Tavares High School. He is survived by his mother Gleibys “Gabby” Castro, his father Brandon Croson, his step-father Logan Knab, and his step-mother Heather Croson, along with his siblings Aubrianna Ruiz, Oliver Croson, Aria Castro, and Theodore Croson. Alex was a loving older brother to his four siblings and a proud “father” to his rescue dog Cleo.
Alex lived life with enthusiasm and passion for the things he loved. An avid gamer, he spent countless hours competing in online tournaments with his friends and dreamed of becoming a professional gamer and streamer. He was a true car enthusiast and took immense pride in his Dodge Charger, a treasured gift for his 16th birthday. Alex was a loyal Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoyed playing basketball during his younger years. He also had a keen eye for fashion and loved searching for unique finds while thrifting. He loved animals of all kinds but had a special love for dogs.
The celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Umatilla on June 20th at 10 am at 550 Hatfield Dr, Umatilla, FL 32784. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the Chondrosarcoma Foundation.
Alex showed tremendous strength, courage, and faith during his hard-fought battle with mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. His family is continuing his fight against this rare cancer in his memory. For more information on how to support the fight, you can visit: https://csfshayna.org/
