Albert W. Gamble's Obituary
Albert Gamble, fiercely loved husband, father, and friend, passed away on April 30, 2015, after a long and inspired battle with cancer. Friends and family enjoyed and will miss his well-rounded sense of humor, kind heart, and well-honed independent streak. He was 69 years old.
A long-suffering Dolphins and Hurricanes fan, lover of good food and fine wine, and avid movie buff, Al was born, grew up, and lived almost his entire life in South Florida. His longest absence occurred during the height of the Vietnam war, during which he served with distinction for three years as a Medical Specialist, earning five Bronze Service Stars, three Service Medals, and a Commendation Medal. Thereafter, he married and remarried, witnessed the birth of four children and seven grandchildren, worked as a code enforcement officer in Hialeah and Pinecrest, and traveled far and wide on countless cruises and other trips. He had recently moved to Eustis, where he and his wife settled into his dream home on a lake.
Al is survived by his wife, Sandra; his children, Amie, Michelle, and Sean; his stepchildren, David and Jeffrey; and his grandchildren, Bradley, Giovanni, Sandra, Jenna, Caleb, Julian, and Ian. He is predeceased by his parents, Warren and Helen, and his son, Scott. A memorial service celebrating his life is being scheduled.
