I first met Ronnie when he performed at the old Monteray club in Montreal many years ago. At that time i was a member of a trio called the Stylers and he invited us to play a few tunes at the club. that was back in 1960. fast forward to the early 1980s when he and Orvil dined at my restaurant in Halifax it was quite a surprise to see them again and he also rememberd me. i was always a fan. Rest in peace maestro .
I worked for Ronnie and Gloria many days at Branson Missouri. Gloria fixed me many lunches. They were wonderful folks. Ronnie would play and sing during breaks. He would help in the many jobs I was doing. It was always a pleasure to go to work. Ronnie was very tendered hearted . Ronnie was the real deal. He would never undermine anyone. He was a very dear friend that I will always cherish. Gloria was a wonderful wife and took the best care of Ronnie. Ronnie will always be missed. Such a wonderful man. Mike Chapman
I was maybe 9 or 10 in about 1974 or 1975 when my parents drove us from Timmins Ontario,(South Porcupine, Ont), to Cochrane, Ontario Canada to see a Ronnie Prophet concert. I remember going to the front of the stage near the end of the concert and shaking his hand. He was on stage shaking a group of peoples hands who were in front. I remember his hands were big, strong and rough, lol.
For years after my parents would play his comedy album, "Harald The Horny Toad" that they bought at that concert for company and I remember the laughter vividly. I could repeat that album word for word after a while and I've taken credit for his jokes far too often over the last 40 yrs or so,.. lol. (Sorry Ronnie, :). Rest in peace, and thank you for the memories.
My stepfather Roy Bigalow his brothers Kenny from Thompson Manitoba and Howard from Elliot Lake spoke of Ronnie over many years starting when my mother married Roy in 1980.
I never met the man personally but from what I did hear he was a great man.

We were in Canada in 1959/60 and met Ronnie at the Monterey Club in Montreal. We became friends and we were invited to his home and met his mother. We visited the Indian Reservation, went horseback riding and toured Montreal with Ronnie. Whenever we get together we reminisce about those times. We will fondly remember him and those happier times.
