David and I met in 1975. I was five. David and Nancy wintered in Florida but returned to Vermont for the better weather months. We lived across the street and every year, David would return to Vermont with a new Cadillac. Over the years, we bonded over cars and shared our love for the Cadillacs of the day. As I grew older, I learned that there was so much more to David. He was a smart, funny, caring soul....Did I mention smart?
There is something about a life long friend. You might not keep in touch as often as you would have liked, but anytime we did, it was like we just spoke yesterday. As I grew older and attended college in PA and met my bride-to-be, David and Nancy attended our wedding (2003). It wouldn't have been the same without them. My wife loves David and Nancy like I. We now have a six year old daughter that we always wanted to meet David (and Nancy) and we always thought there would be time. Unfortunately, last Wednesday marked the end of that time. There are many things that David taught me that I plan to teach my daughter. But for now, when she saw the sadness in our eyes, we could only tell her that the we lost a dear friend, a father figure, a smart and godly man and someone who always looked for the best in people. David once confided in me that if he made it to heaven, he would walk again. Well, we are sure that not only did David make it to heaven, but that he is walking right now. Keep walking our friend!
All our Love,
Chris, Maria and Georgia
